Because of Mississippi’s warmer weather, several species, including spring peepers, can sometimes be heard as early as winter. Leopard frogs, chorus frogs, crawfish frogs, and cricket frogs are a few others that have been known to start their annual crooning in winter. When do we start to see hummingbirds in Mississippi?

But when spring arrives and the weather starts to warm, these tiny birds start to migrate north, some even as early as February.
