You May Not Like These Predictions About Mississippi’s Cold And Snowy Upcoming Winter

Summer (and the sweltering temperatures that come along with it) is in full swing in Mississippi. The immense heat coupled with the intense humidity is enough to make anyone long for the cold days of winter. But are you ready for the “chilly, wet” winter the Farmers’ Almanac is predicting for the Magnolia State?

Get ready to bundle up, Mississippi. It looks as if you’ll be dealing with lower than average temperatures and more rain, sleet, and snow than usual.

Using a 200 year old formula, the Farmers’ Almanac has released their winter outlook for 2017 – 2018.

According to their predictions, it’s going to be a "chilly, wet" one in Mississippi.
Mississippi, as well as the entire southeast, can expect an "unseasonable chill reaching as far south as the Gulf Coast, with above average precipitation."

Break out your rain jackets, winter coats, and umbrellas because the forecast predicts more rain, cooler temperatures, and more snowfall than in past winters.
Be sure to stock up on firewood. The state is set to experience below normal winter temperatures.

Some of the coldest days will be in the early part of December to the middle of December, early January to the middle of January, and early February.
Several cities may actually experience a white Christmas since the winter outlook predicts "near or above normal snowfall."

Snowfall in the northern portion of the state is most likely in December, early January, and early February.
