Think ice skating is out of the question because you live in Mississippi? Think again! The state actually has a couple of ice skating rinks – and one of them can be found at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi. The rink is getting ready to open for the 2019-2020 season, and you’ll definitely want to plan a visit. Read on for all the deets.
The Mississippi Coast Coliseum and Convention Center is the biggest beachfront facility of its kind in the South.
But size isn’t the coliseum’s only claim to fame. There’s also the fact that it houses the only public ice skating rink between Lafayette, LA and Pensacola, FL.
Each year, the rink opens to the public, making it one of just a couple of places where you can ice skate in Mississippi. The 2019/2020 season begins on November 8th and ends on January 5th.
The $12-admission fee includes your ice skates and a 90-minute session out on the ice. Keep in mind, the tickets and skates are available 30 minutes prior to the session start time.
Even younger, inexperienced skaters can take part in this magical winter pastime – and it’s all thanks to Bobby the Seal. Available for rent, the skate aid helps little ones keep their balance out on the ice.
