Rochester is a medium-sized Michigan town located in Oakland County.
This Metro Detroit gem offers family-friendly activities and plenty of special events throughout the year, but it’s known throughout the region for its extraordinary holiday cheer.
Since 2006, Rochester has hosted an annual downtown holiday lights display known as the Big, Bright Light Show. Every winter, the town comes to life with twinkles and sparkles galore.
This year’s lights are already on display and will remain illuminated nightly through January 3rd. On weekend evenings in January, the lights will be temporarily aglow.
When you choose to explore this breathtaking display, you’ll have the chance to experience upwards of one million magnificent lights. Each and every storefront seems to shine.
Whether you’re in the car or on foot, it’s tough not to feel like you’ve stepped into a real-life winter wonderland in downtown Rochester. Talk about holiday magic.
If you’re looking for a way to support local businesses this season, consider picking up a few items from Rochester’s many small shops during your jaunt through the light show.
Whether you’ve been attending for years or are a newcomer, one thing is for sure: the Big, Bright Light Show and Rochester as a whole will quickly fill you with the spirit of the season.
