While this awesome shop is now operated by True Value, that doesn’t erase its status as the oldest continually operating hardware store in Michigan.
Raymond Hardware opened its doors in 1850 and was operated by multiple generations of the Raymond family until it was sold to outside investors in 1969.
While it’s no longer family-operated, the store takes great pride in its past. Some even claim that it’s haunted by the ghost of its former owner, Fred Raymond!
When you step inside, you’ll find many classic and modern hardware store items — but the atmosphere is decidedly welcoming and charming.
