1. Belle Isle's "Hipster Beach"
Belle Isle is a great getaway from the city and it's only 5-15 minutes away from downtown. Head over to the "hipster" area of the park where its a lot more secluded and people bring their own beverages and snacks. It is located at 2 Inselruhe Avenue Detroit MI, 48207.
2. Aloha State Park
If you don't mind the 3 hours and 55 minute drive from Detroit, check out Aloha State Park in Cheboygan. The park is never crowded and you'll love getting away from the hustle and bustle from the city. It is located at 4347 3rd St, Cheboygan, MI 49721.
3. Caseville County Park
Located in Saginaw Bay, Caseville County Park gives off that relaxing feeling of being in a small town. The area has places to swim, camp and picnic. It is located at 6400 Main St, Caseville, MI 48725.
4. Fort Custer Recreation Area
Fort Custer Recreation Area is located in Augusta, Michigan with a calm and secluded sand shore on Eagle Lake. The area is bordered by three lakes and is a perfect destination to leave the big city. It is located at 5163 Fort Custer Dr, Augusta, MI 49012.
5. Wabasis Campground
Wabasis Campground is located in Greenville, in Kent County, and has 300 feet of shoreline with roads that will lead you to quiet and private beach spots. It is located at 11220 Springhill Dr, Greenville, MI 48838.
6. Kirk Park Beach
Kirk Park Beach is a beautiful beach along Lake Michigan. They even have a dog beach! It it located at 9791 N Lakeshore Dr, West Olive, MI 49460.
7. Van Buren Park Beach
Van Buren Park Beach is in Belleville and a short ride from the city. There are hiking trails, areas to have picnics and purchase concessions. It is located at S. I-94 Service Dr. east of Rawsonville Rd. Belleville, Michigan 48111.
8. Muskegon State Park
Muskegon State Park is over 1,000 acres and is situated on Lake Michigan and Muskegon Lake. The area has so many activties for you and your family with camp sites, sunbathing, swimming and fishing. It is located at 3560 Memorial Dr, North Muskegon, MI 49445.
9. Camp Dearborn
The family-oriented recreational area offers a half mile swimming beach, paddle boats, fishing, camping - and there is a beautiful golf course. It is located at 1700 General Motors Rd, Milford, MI 48380.
10. Sterling State Park
Only about a 40 minute drive away, Sterling State Park is the only state park on Lake Erie. There is over one mile of beach lakefront, camping and six miles of trails. It is located at 2800 State Park Road Monroe MI, 48162.
