This dog-friendly park in Detroit has a lot to enjoy, from waterside fun to the wide-open areas you can explore with your canine friend. Welcome to today's fun outdoor feature, Belle Isle Park in Detroit. This area is not only beautiful, but also perfect for those of us looking to bring our dogs along for the ride.

Belle Isle Park encompasses 985 acres of river, natural beauty, and manmade structures that form a great place to get some fresh air with or without your pets.

Thankfully, as long as your canine friends are leashed, you can take them all over the park with you. It's time for adventure!
Wetting their paws in the James River is a bit of fun your dog can have without you, assuming your shoes aren't waterproof enough for submersion.

Though the park does have a designated swimming beach, it isn't really a good spot to bring a pet, especially while on a leash.
Enjoy sitting at the James Scott Fountain, visiting the Livingstone Memorial Lighthouse, and more. There's a lot to do here, and most of it can be done with your furry companion at your side.
