Cliff Bell's is Detroit's home for live jazz.
Enjoy a night out in Downtown Detroit at Cliff Bell's, where you'll experience amazing live jazz, award winning cuisine and yummy cocktails.
It all started in 1935.
John Clifford Bell opened Cliff Bell's in 1935. It was a swanky and luxurious club that was made up of brass and mahogany. Cliff Bell's was one of the busiest places in the downtown area during the '30s, '40s and '50s. In the '70s and '80s some might remember it under different names, including The Winery, La Cave and JB's on the Park. The club closed in 1985, but in 2005 it reopened after just six months of hard work. The building's owners kept John Clifford Bell's old club in mind, and you can tell by the mahogany and brass that makes up the new bar.
The club has live jazz music every day.
Cliff Bell's is unlike any other club or bar in Detroit. Live jazz music is played almost every night with different bands and artists showing off their amazing talents. You can check out Cliff Bell's calendar online, which shows which bands are playing each night. With an upbeat ambiance and friendly staff, Cliff Bell's is one of Detroit's gems.
Sip on delicious cocktails while watching a fabulous trio.
The jazz club has a great selection of alcoholic beverages and a list of their own cocktail concoctions. Some of these amazing drinks include, The Cliff Bell (Valentine Vodka, Aperol, St. Germaine, grapefruit juice and a splash of soda), the Gypsy Kiss (Godiva Chocolate, Chambord, Malibu Rum and Baileys), and the Belle's Blossom (Valentine White Blossom Vodka, pear puree, simple syrup, fresh lemon and nutmeg). Are you thirsty yet?
Did we mention Cliff Bell's has award winning food?
