Built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1937, the arts and crafts-style Bascom Lodge is one of the most unique places to spend the night in Massachusetts.

While this lodge is beautifully rustic, you can enjoy a relaxing time here. Overnight guests include hikers along the Appalachian Trail as well as tourists and families from surrounding states.

Bascom Lodge can accommodate up to 34 guests at any given time. You can book either a private room or space in one of the group bunk rooms.

There are also plenty of common rooms with wood plank flooring and stone fireplaces that provide lovely spaces to relax and unwind.

With a stay here, you will be treated to a complimentary breakfast with muffins, coffee, and tea. The lodge also has a wine and beer license so you can feel free to imbibe while you're here!

And while Bascom Lodge doesn't have the amenities as many resorts throughout the state, its history and views more than make up for it. You certainly can't get views like this from anywhere else in the state than from Bascom Lodge atop Mount Greylock.
