Sometimes you want to lace up your hiking boots and tackle a challenging trail. And other days, you just want a lazy stroll through nature. The Kettlehole trail in Lincoln is the latter. It features lovely scenery and even a peek at some horses. You couldn’t ask for a prettier place for a peaceful walk.
Kettlehole Trail is a beautiful 3.5-mile hiking path in Lincoln, Massachusetts. It will take you past truly charming horse pastures and meadows.
The hike starts out in the woods and follows a flat, meandering path. You don’t need special hiking boots for this trail, but sneakers are advised.
If you stick to the trail, you’ll eventually be led out past beautiful meadows. Keep your eyes peeled for wildflowers in the spring and early summer!
As you stroll, you may be lucky enough to spot some horses on the farm that sits adjacent to the trail.
These lovely creatures graze in the pastures alongside the path, but please note that the farm is private property and absolutely no attempt should be made to interact with or approach the horses.
This is an out-and-back trail, so you should plan on turning around once you reach the end in order to make your way back to your car. The entire trip should take you about 1.5 hours, if you take things slowly.
You can park at the Mount Misery parking lot on Route 117. Overflow parking is located at Canoe Landing.
