Fall foliage lovers are in luck – Amtrak is bringing its famous Dome Car to Massachusetts for the ultimate way to admire the state’s autumn colors.
From now until September 24, passengers on Amtrak’s Downeaster route can sit in the Great Dome Car for the same price as a regular ticket.
The Great Dome Car is designed to offer passengers panoramic views of the scenery. It has windows on all sides and an upper level with a windowed roof.
Watching the fall foliage stream from almost every angle is a truly breathtaking experience.
The Downeaster route includes stops in Haverhill and Boston. It extends through New Hampshire all the way to Brunswick, Maine.
This car is the last of its kind in Amtrak service. It was built in 1955 and has been wowing Amtrak travelers for over 60 years.
This vintage car will leave the Downeaster route after September 24, so book your leaf-peeping adventure today. Places are available on a first-come basis, so be sure to show up early for your train.
