Hiking to to this fairytale tower in Greenfield couldn’t be an easier or more magical way to spend a couple hours on a weekend.

Poet’s Seat Tower is a gorgeous stone structure on a lofty hill overlooking the town.

It was built in 1912 to honor the fact that poets through the years have been drawn to this gorgeous hill. In 1850, poet Frederick Goddard Tuckerman first called the area Poet’s Seat.

The hike will up is about 1.2 miles and perfectly doable for adults of all skill levels as well as smaller children.

Once you reach the top, you’ll be greeted with panoramic views that look like something out of a storybook.

The tower itself is pretty awesome too. Enter at the bottom and climb the spiral staircase to the top.

You can peer out of romantic arched windows at the fantastic vista below.
