These 6 Restaurants In Maine Are So Good They Were Featured On Television

We all know that great dining opportunities are everywhere in Maine. From the small lobster shack at the side of the road to the ones featured in National magazines, there's something for every taste, budget and location. But, we can't help but appreciate that some of our restaurants have been featured on television and while we don't love to admit how excited that makes us...it does!

1. Holy Donut, Scarborough & Portland

While we recently said goodbye to the Old Port location, there are still two others to enjoy. These Maine potato donuts are unbeatable and might just be the most Vacationland dessert you can try. Sorry, whoopie pies. Stop in for one of their seasonal versions or a gluten-free! And if you're looking for more Maine donuts, consider going on our donut trail trip!

2. The Lobster Shack at Two Lights, Cape Elizabeth

If the oceanside setting isn't enough to entice you to visit, how about the fact that this place has been serving the most perfect Maine seafood for over 50 seasons? 3. Nosh Kitchen Bar, Portland

Do we love this place? Yes! Should you? YES! Nosh is famous for their incredible burgers and all the varieties they have, but we also can't get enough of their fries. 4. Margaritas Mexican Restaurant, Portland

Maybe it's the kitschy interior or maybe it's the fact that they offer up a great menu, but this is a go-to Mexican spot that we love. Despite the fact that it's a chain, it certainly feels very Maine.

5. The Highroller Lobster Co., Portland

What started as a simple food truck has expanded into its own brick and mortar location that frequently has a line to get in. The lobster dishes are plentiful, but you can also snag yourself a burger or chicken sandwich. They even have a lobster taco served in a cheese shell. 6. RIP Sav's at the Tradewinds, Arundel

When it was featured on Man v. Food, the hosts challenge was to down an "Ocho Burger" with eight patties plus a bunch of sides. While we're not necessarily recommending that, there are plenty of other delicious menu items. This place is but a distant memory as it's temporarily closed, but we're hoping to see it open again. Someday.
