Food in Maine is second-to-none and that’s why this sandwich, found in one of the best newer spots in Portland, comes as no surprise. What does surprise us, though, is that we initially missed the fact that it was once named as Best Sandwich by the Portland Press Herald. So, in an attempt to make up for our 2018 oversight, we’re giving it to you now. It’s a perfect mix of everything that makes Maine food oh-so-good.

Established in 2015 as a food cart in Portland, The Highroller Lobster Co. has graduated to become one of the Old Port's most beloved restaurants.

And it's uncommon to walk by without seeing the place absolutely bopping.

But while we all care about the vibe and decor, what we're here to talk about today is this: the inimitable Surf and Turf sandwich.

You see, this thing has the best of both worlds packed inside a perfectly buttered bun.

You can also get it with bacon on top, which is a whole new world of delicious. Always get it with fries.

Of course, there's plenty more on offer at Highroller. Including the (duh) lobster rolls.

They come in tons of varieties, as well as ever-changing specials. So, get over there and try them all.
