Travel Back To The 1870s By Visiting Maine’s Very Own Narrow Gauge Railroad and Museum

You’ll take a step back in time when you visit Maine’s Narrow Gauge Railroad and Museum. Located in Portland, this museum showcases old trains from Maine’s small gauge railway history. These railways connected rural areas of Maine with the big cities and also carried freight. There are about 200 miles of small gauge railroad in the state. The museum was created in 1992 to preserve the equipment and educate the public about these historic trains and railways.
