There’s A Restaurant In This 125-Year-Old Farmhouse In Maine And You’ll Want To Visit
Eating your way through Maine is an easy thing to do. From south to north and east and west, there’s something for everyone. Whether you prefer the fish shacks near the water or spot that get attention from all over the country, we’re pretty sure there’s no place else we’d rather be when we’re hungry. As an added bonus, we’ve also got plenty of history. The two come together at this special place near Sugarloaf!
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. Welcome to the Coplin Dinner House, located in Stratton just a few miles from Sugarloaf Mountain.
The restaurant, owned and operated by Heidi Donovan and Chef Tony Rossi, sits within a farmhouse dating back to 1896. The farmhouse was once the largest dairy farm in the area.
And while you can't help but love the ambiance and history, it's the food we think everyone loves most. The hearty portions of the kind of food that warms the soul are delicious.
And we mean lots of room. We love the idea of visiting with a larger group for a chance to try as much off the menu as possible. Especially when it comes to the sweet stuff!
And if you love the Coplin Dinner House you'll want to swing by the Tigerlily Pub. Things here are a bit more casual with a local pub menu. And everything is just as delicious.
The Coplin Dinner House is open Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. They’re closed on Monday and Tuesday. You can learn more about their background story and what to expect by checking out their website. You can also visit them on Facebook. They can be reached on 207-246-0016.
Michelle has lived in many places, but counts Maine as one of the best. In addition to the smell of ocean water in the air on rainy days in Portland, she loves puppies, photography, funny people, the Maine Red Claws, traveling, fresh tomatoes, Cambodia and filling out forms.
