There’s A Classic Car Museum Hidden In Maine And Visiting Is A Trip Down Memory Lane
There’s a lot of history in Maine, but we typically think of it as natural history. There’s the history of people who came before and the history of how this state was founded. There’s also the kind of history that exists in the restaurants, bars, and shops that have made small Maine communities thrive for decades. Today, though, we’re talking about the kind of history that has helped us get to and from all of these places. Check out this fun, unexpected museum!
Welcome to the Maine Classic Car Museum in Arundel!
In typical Maine fashion, you might not know this fun spot exists if you're not looking for it. Sitting just off of Portland Road, it's worth searching out.
Each car comes with a story, and it's so much fun to learn where it might have been. Visitors are encouraged to explore on their own or choose to walk through with one of the docents who have tons of knowledge.
If you grew up loving cars and coveting what celebrities may have been driving this is the perfect way to spend an afternoon. It's great for a rainy day.
We love that this little spot exists and we think you'll agree that it's a fun, hidden gem to enjoy here in Maine.
The Classic Car Museum is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. They’re closed on Sunday. Admission is $12, but kids under 7 can visit for free. You can learn more about it by checking out the website, or you can follow them on Facebook. The museum can be reached at 207-710-6699.
Michelle has lived in many places, but counts Maine as one of the best. In addition to the smell of ocean water in the air on rainy days in Portland, she loves puppies, photography, funny people, the Maine Red Claws, traveling, fresh tomatoes, Cambodia and filling out forms.
