If you’ve traveled through Maine you know that some of the best food you can find is often in the most unexpected locations. Sometimes it’s lobster at an off-the-beaten-path fish shack. Other times it might be a white tablecloth dining experience at an old home that doesn’t look like much from the outside. All of this is great, but our favorite thing is finding quick and unexpectedly good food at small-town shops. This spot is the perfect example!
One of the most beautiful small towns in Maine is Unity, located in Waldo County. Year-round it offers great views, idyllic nature and friendly people.
While we can't say enough about the beauty of Unity, we can probably all agree that there's nothing more beautiful than the perfect breakfast sandwich! In this town, you'll find it at The Depot Country Store on Depot Street.
If, for some reason, you do find yourself hungry for lunch or dinner plan on popping in for one of their non-breakfast meals. We love the pizza and the dinner meals like this one featuring turkey, gravy and green beans.
