9 Stops To Make Along Maine’s US-1 That Are Drive-Worthy Destinations

Route 1, also known as US-1, runs all the way from Key West, Florida to Fort Kent, Maine. That means quite a few states have access to the road. But, if you’ve ever seen the portion of the road that passes through Maine you’ll agree that we have it pretty good up here. You see, there’s something about the forest, rocky coast, and small businesses that dot the road that make us pretty sure the best part is right here! Take yourself on a drive to see it and be sure to use these stops as your waypoints.

We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. While we’re continuing to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, we don’t expect or encourage you to go check them out immediately. We believe that supporting local attractions is important now more than ever and we hope our articles inspire your future adventures! And on that note, please nominate your favorite local business that could use some love right now: https://www.onlyinyourstate.com/nominate/

We’re pretty lucky here in Maine. Between US-1 and all the other things to see here, there are plenty of road trips to enjoy. One of our favorites? The Ultimate Maine waterfalls road trip. It’s right here and you’ll want to do it!
