Located in Livingston Parish, Tickfaw State Park is one of the most beautiful state parks in Louisiana.
Nestled up against the Tickfaw River, this state park features over 1,200 acres of natural beauty to enjoy.
With several nature trails to explore, it’s the perfect destination to get outside and have a little adventure.
The River Loop trail is an easy nature trail that just about anyone can knock out in an afternoon.
This boardwalk and gravel trail is about 2 miles long and will take you on a wonderfully scenic adventure around the park.
You’ll be surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery Louisiana has to offer.
As you stroll down the trail you’ll have a front-row seat to the cypress-tupelo swamp, a bottomland hardwood forest, a mixed pine/hardwood forest, and the Tickfaw River.
It's a great spot for wildlife viewing. Alligators, turtles, snakes, and all your usual swamp critters can be found lounging around, not to mention the symphony of sounds from the songbirds in the trees above you.
When the weather is nice, there's truly no better spot than the Tickfaw State Park.
