A Short But Beautiful Hike, Rock Falls Trail Leads To A Little-Known Waterfall In Louisiana

Looking for a unique hike in Louisiana? The J.C. “Sonny” Gilbert Wildlife Management Area offers over 7,500 acres to explore, and some of the most unique hiking trails in Louisiana. These trails are a far departure from the boardwalk swamp trails that are so prevalent in the southern part of the state, in fact, they’re quite the opposite! This particular trail will lead you straight to a waterfall, but not just any waterfall, the tallest waterfall in Louisiana!

For more information, including permits, licenses, and tags needed to visit this wildlife management area, visit the Louisiana Wildlife & Fisheries website. Once you see Rock Falls, head over to the St. Mary’s Fall Trail nearby and knock two waterfalls out in one day!
