As we turn the corner and head into springtime, flowers will begin to bloom, brightening our gardens and hiking trails all over the state. It's the perfect time of year to be spending your afternoons outdoors, and this one particular botanical garden should move to the top of your bucket list. The R.W. Norton Art Gallery is a phenomenal attraction that's great year-round, but especially during this time of year.
Located in Shreveport, the R.W. Norton Art Gallery is home to an impressive collection of art that spans over 4,000 years of history.
For art lovers, it’s truly a one-of-a-kind gallery that has become well-known for its exquisite collection and rotating exhibits.
For nature lovers, the botanical gardens are a picture-perfect way to spend an afternoon.
Just outside of the art gallery, 40 acres of perfectly landscaped grounds and botanical gardens are just waiting for you to explore.
When the gardens are in bloom, it’s truly a sight to see.
There are several thousand azaleas nestled within the gardens, and boy do they pop!
As you meander through the walking paths, you’ll find several benches peppered throughout. The perfect spot to sit for a spell and admire the view.
Currently, the Norton Botanical Garden is open seven days a week.
Please note that currently, the museum is closed to the general public due to COVID-19, but the botanical gardens are open during the following hours:
Monday - Thursday: 4 p.m. - sunset
Thursday - Sunday: sunrise - sunset
