This Inconspicuous Neighborhood Restaurant In New Orleans Is Almost Too Good To Be True

Gris-Gris is a celebrated neighborhood restaurant in New Orleans known for its refined southern staples and unique dining experience.

Neighborhood restaurants are always cooking up some of the most delicious food around, but part of what makes these neighborhood gems to special is feeling like you’re at home. A place where you get to know the staff and the staff gets to know you. This inconspicuous neighborhood restaurant on Magazine Street could easily become your new go-to eatery, so get ready.

Welcome to Gris-Gris, a relatively new restaurant in the Lower Garden District.

Established in August of 2018, Chef Eric Cook quickly made a mark in the neighborhood. Both Eater Nola and New Orleans City Business crowned Gris-Gris with the Best Restaurant Of The Year award for 2018, and it’s time you pay them a visit.

Once you take a look at their menu, you’ll understand why they’ve won so many accolades.

When the weather is nice, take advantage of their beautiful wrap-around balcony. It's a delightful spot to enjoy your meal.

But the Chef’s Table is what makes this neighborhood restaurant so unique. You’ll have a front row seat to interact with the culinary team and watch them work their magic to create your meal.

At Gris-Gris, you can expect a menu full of refined southern staples in addition to some traditional New Orleans favorites.

For the truly hungry, you can’t go wrong with their 14 oz. house cut rib-eye served with caramelized onions, mashed potatoes, and their homemade steak sauce.

Even their burgers are off the charts. The LGD Burger is a 1/2 pound of ground chuck piled sky high with all the fixings and served on a toasted pretzel bun.

Gris-Gris is open for lunch and dinner six days a week.
