Every year, the historic Acadian Village transforms into a twinkling light show that’s one of the most enchanting holiday displays in Louisiana. This year promises to be one of their best years yet, and you’re not going to want to miss it. Let’s check it out.
Located on 32 acres in Lafayette, LARC’s Acadian Village is a history lover’s paradise. This little village recreates a typical 19th century Acadian Village, complete with several restored houses and buildings. It's a fascinating place that really gives you a glimpse at what life was like for early settlers in the area.
For the month of December, however, the village transforms into a magical holiday light show that you should clear your schedule for.
Every evening, over a million lights will illuminate the historic village in what might be the most beautiful holiday light show in Louisiana.
This year is their 40th year, and you won’t want to miss it. The whole family will love strolling through the grounds, checking out all of the magical lights…
…and holiday displays.
The festival will be open from December 4 until December 23, from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. nightly. Weather permitting, of course.
This year, you can purchase tickets in one of two time blocks, 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. - 9.30 p.m.
This ensures proper COVID-19 protocols so everyone can safely enjoy the event and it won't get overcrowded.
They will not be selling tickets in person, so be sure to buy yours online ahead of time.
For more information, be sure to check out their website and give them a follow on Facebook.
