The Coolest Place To Shop In Louisiana Is An Antique Mall In An Old Schoolhouse

Louisiana has plenty of antique shops, thrift stores, and flea markets that are full of epic treasures, but few are housed in a building with a history as unique as the Washington Old Schoolhouse. You could spend hours wandering the halls here, so make sure you’ve set aside plenty of time to explore the 40,000-square-foot building, and you may want to clean out your car because you’ll be finding all sorts of goodies you’ll want to take home.

For one of the most unique shopping experiences you can have, head over to the Old Schoolhouse Antique Mall in Washington.

As the name would suggest, the building was once a schoolhouse almost a century ago.

The school was built in 1934 and was the original Washington High School for many years.

Today, the 40,000-square-foot school is chock-full of goodies you'll want to take home.

After you've explored the schoolhouse, don't forget to head to the gym.

The gymnasium holds even more treasures!

There's also a cafe, where you can fuel up in between shopping sessions.

Twice a year, they take to the lawn and hold both a spring and a fall antique fair where even more vendors come out and pepper the lawns with everything from cast iron cookware to locally sourced honey.
