This Abandoned Jail in Louisiana is the Stuff Nightmares are Made Of
There are a lot of strange abandoned buildings in Louisiana, but this abandoned jail in Deridder, LA might just be one of the most ominous. The jail was built in 1914 and from the beginning has been plagued with rumors of hauntings and spirits. And of course, once it stopped being used, the rumors just continued.

It's the only jail that used "Collegiate Gothic" design in the first part of the 20th century.

Executions still occurred here, however, including two men who were hanged in 1928 for murdering a taxi driver.

This was helped along by some strange features of the jail, including a spiral stone staircase and a tunnel connecting the jail to the courthouse where prisoners could go unseen as they traveled.

Some say it was the spirit of the old jailer who worked there himself.

You can learn all about what they found there in the video below.
Can you believe all the things they discovered there? When you see this jail, do you think it is haunted? And what do you think they should do with it now?
