Historians will get a kick out of exploring Fohs Hall, a beautiful old building that's a fine example of classical revival style. It was built by Julius Fohs, a world-renowned geologist, and given to the city of Marion and the Board of Education in 1926. In 1982, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. Today, it's a beloved event venue in town and a lovely place to explore.

In fact, Fochs Hall isn't the only interesting geological connection in Marion. If you're into unique museums, Marion is home to the Clement Mineral Collection, a collection of Kentucky and Illinois Flourite. The crystal specimens range in weight from a fraction of an ounce to hundreds of pounds, and are rather intriguing to see!
