This trail in southeast Kansas is one you'll want to revisit time and time again, especially if you fall in love with the view of the hidden lake behind the trees. Let's check it out!
Located near Elk City, Kansas, Table Mound Trail is a stunning example of what Kansas nature has to offer.
You'll start off with a gorgeous overlook that only leads to more natural wonders.
Along the winding path, you'll see all sorts of rock walls.
The total out-and-back trail is about 5.6 miles, so bring your good boots and a walking stick if needed.
In some areas, rocks surround the path and make you feel like you're not in Kansas for a while.
After all, each part of Kansas is as different as the last. We're full of unique treasures just like this hiking path. Just watch your feet!
You can easily spend a good portion of your day exploring the trail and branching off on alternate paths.
One of the trail branches goes to the bottom of the bluff overlooking the lake, and the other continues on.
As you break through the trees, a peek of blue water of the hidden lake says hello.
