When is the last time a creepy ghost story spooked you a little bit? For many Kansans, abandoned buildings are more cool than they are scary. However, this abandoned ghost town is hiding a building with a creepy past we can't ignore. That is, if the stories are true. Have you ever visited this abandoned place in Kansas?
Note: This location may not be open for public access, and we recommend asking permission from local law enforcement before entering the property. Thanks!
Through the trees around Independence, KS there sits a lost piece of Kansas history. That piece of history is called Le Hunt.
Le Hunt was once a town in Kansas based around the United Kansas Portland Cement Company's cement factory here. Apparently, most of the town's inhabitants worked at the facility, but the town and factory both died out when the Great Depression hit.
According to legend, however, this abandoned cement factory is actually haunted. The creepy past of this town is centered on the abandoned cement factory, now covered in graffiti and overgrowth.
As the story goes, a man named Bohr died in the facility after being trapped in a wall of cement while he was working.
Am I the only one that thinks this scene belongs in Jeepers Creepers?
Borh's shovel and wheelbarrow can still be seen embedded into the wall of the factory, put there by his fellow crew members to honor his passing.
