There’s a lot of places you’ll want to go in Kansas once springs rolls in, but first on many of our lists is seeing all of the beautiful flowers that pop up. Some of our favorite flowers might be wild, but you can find plenty of beauty in this flower farm that’s farming up every color of the rainbow.
Welcome to The Flower Farm, a great place in Gardner, Kansas that's growing every color and shape the rainbow comes in.
This family farm has been running since 1971, and they work hard bringing color and nature to the public. They mix and sterilize their own soil, and most of their plants come from cuttings they've taken from plants already growing here at the farm.
Taking in the sight of each greenhouse as you look for that perfect plant to suit your need for something green this spring is what we all need after all the cloudy grey skies and dead grass of the winter.
They've got plenty of space for you to browse, even if you aren't looking for anything too specific. Plants in every shape, size, and color are here, and the staff know a lot about what plants suit what lifestyle and location. If you have a certain spot at home you're trying to fill, odds are they'll know just what will suit it.
No matter what you bring home, you can get all the care instructions and advice from these capable flower farmers. They know something about each and every plant they have, because they've been growing it themselves the whole time.
Can you imagine how many flowers have left this farm to travel long distances or grow elsewhere for the rest of their lives? Some of these flowers were picked and lived temporarily in vases, and others end up lovingly cared for in planters and gardens everywhere. What will their journey be when you take one of your own?
When you're ready to check out everything this flower farm has to offer, the greenhouse is open from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays. However, they may not be here during business hours due to other commitments or cloudy days, so they recommend calling before you head out. Their number is (913) 856-8517.
