Welcome to a familiar sight to many Kansans, a historic building named Hotel Josephine out in Holton, Kansas.
This historic hotel was built in 1889 and named after Walker's daughter, Josephine. The hotel was in continuous operation until it unfortunately closed in 2010, to be later purchased and revamped.
Now, not only did the hotel get a makeover, but there's been an addition. Oak Roots is a brand new fine dining restaurant that has taken advantage of this more than 130-year-old building.
This small-town restaurant prides itself on providing elegant and fresh meals, with each ingredient being farm-to-table whenever seasonally possible. Locally sourced beef and produce sure makes tasty easy to achieve, and home cooking flavors give it a touch of home.
We love fine dining with locally sourced ingredients, but you'll also find that their beer selection is locally sourced as well. Check out their partnered breweries and wineries, and taste combinations that only Kansas can bring you.
Here, you'll also find wine tastings, classes on cooking, and much more. They've always been more than a hotel, and keeping a sense of community is important to running a good business in small-town Kansas.
