8 Small Town Steakhouses In Kansas That Are Totally Worth The Trip
Steakhouses are commonplace in Kansas with all of the cows around, but not every steakhouse is equal. Some of them are amazing, and cook steaks that are somehow leagues above the others. These steakhouses in Kansas cook some of the best in the Midwest, and we’d love to share them with you. Come grab a bite for yourself!
1. Colonial Steakhouse - 464 US-83, Oakley, Kansas
We all love steaks, and western Kansas is a great place to find a good cut of meat. There's also a seafood buffet you should try if you have any room left over after this monster!
2. Hickock's Steakhouse - 3402 Vine St, Hays, Kansas
Hickock's is a great place if you want a standard 'meat and potatoes' type meal to taste like nothing you've had before. Every steak is cooked to perfection and the potatoes we chose as a side were the perfect pair.
3. TRIO Tap House - 1106 E 27th St, Hays, Kansas
TRIO is another steakhouse that made its way onto this list for their amazing steaks, but also for the sides that come with it. It's one of the best restaurants in Hays, and after some beef (and a brew) you'll be saying the same.
4. Pretty Boy Floyd's Steakhouse - 210 N Douglas Ave, Ellsworth, Kansas
Pretty Boy Floyd's has a bit of bank robber flair, but the food is well priced for what you receive, even if it's a bit higher than your local diner. An amazing steak and sides might be cheaper at home, but you can't cook them like Pretty Boy Floyd's.
5. Ellsworth Steak House - 1416 Foster Rd, Hwy 156 & Old Hwy 40, Ellsworth, Kansas
If you're ever in Ellsworth, there's no reason to skip out on their amazing steakhouse. Granted, after a steak here you won't be able to eat anything else.
6. Colton's Steak House & Grill - 4001 Parkview Dr, Pittsburg, Kansas
Colton's is another great restaurant to get a steak that'll fill you up along with the amazing side options. Assuming you haven't already tried out all of their appetizers.
7. Jim's Steakhouse - 1912 N Broadway, Pittsburg, Kansas
Jim's is one steakhouse where its name speaks for itself. Plenty of Kansans know all about this amazing spot and just how good steak tips can be. You migh thave never ordered them before, but rest assured you'll be happy if you order them here.
8. Garden City Steakhouse - 1301 E Fulton St, Garden City, Kansas
Garden City has a good steak spot of its own, named after the town. Their prime rib special is worth every ounce and every dollar, for sure. Try some yourself sometime!
If you want to read more about any of these steakhouses after seeing them, we recommend you
start with Pretty Boy Floyd’s.
