Did you know that Iowa has an island city? While it might not be as tropical or volcanic as Oahu, Sabula is Iowa’s island city and you’ll want to make it a point to visit on a day trip this year.
Sabula, Iowa's only island city, is a gorgeous enclave in the middle of the Mississippi River.
If you got a later start to your day of exploring Sabula, stop by the Sandbar for lunch. Their burgers are mouthwatering, tasty, and smothered with a variety of tasty toppings.
The Sandbar is located at 405 Broad St, Sabula, IA 52070. They are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
