The Last Remaining Frank Lloyd Wright Hotel In The World Is Here In Mason City, Iowa
When Frank Lloyd Wright was asked to design the Park Inn Hotel, he was an up-and-coming architect that had yet to make an enormous impression within his field. The Hotel was completed in 1910 and quickly became a landmark in Mason City. Now, it’s the last remaining hotel designed by one of the world’s most famous architects, and Iowans are lucky enough to be able to stay in the last Frank Lloyd Wright hotel still standing.

The Park opened in 1910, but a newer hotel was built in the 1920s that created competition. The economic and farm crisis of the next decades took their toll. The hotel was subdivided into apartments, and much of the original artwork and style was lost. In 1972, the Park Hotel was shuttered.

Thanks to several grants, dedicated volunteers, and local investment, the Historic Park Inn is once again inviting guests to experience old-fashioned grandeur.
