Rathbun Lake is a flood protection lake that the Army Corps of Engineers manages.

The Lodge offers 105 luxurious rooms. The Presidential King Suites offer a sitting area with a fireplace, wet bar, whirlpool tub, kitchen bar, dining table, and a 40-inch flat screen TV.

28 cottages are available to rent, located between The Preserve golf course and Rathbun Lake. Each cottage has its own kitchen, wrap-around deck, and fireplace.


This 18-hole championship golf course offers club fittings and PGA golf lessons on-site. With GPS-equipped carts, five sets of tees, extensive guest services, and a course designed for golfers of every skill level and age, this award-winning course will please any golf enthusiast.

Iowa State University students were leaders in the design of this building. They entered it into a national sustainable design competition. The building is open Wednesdays through Saturdays from 1pm to 4pm year round. Interactive exhibits are a big draw to this area of Honeycreek Resort.

Located across from the golf course near the Pavilion, the Honeycreek playground is a bit different than your typical play structure.
