Where are the best Indiana beach towns?

Who says you can’t have beach towns in a landlocked state? Definitely not us. Indiana is home to several absolutely adorable beach towns, like the beautiful Beverly Shores, which you’ve just read about. There’s also the legendary Michigan City, where the beach is beyond perfect for photographers and revelers alike. Walk the photogenic pier, or watch the sun set with the famous Michigan City Lighthouse in view. Long Beach, Indiana, is another wonderful town nestled right up along the shoreline. For more of our favorite Indiana beach towns, take a look at this list!

Is there a such thing as Indiana beaches?

Well, of course. The northwestern corner of the state is right alongside Lake Michigan, which is one of the largest lakes in the world. Being so huge has its advantages for the Hoosier State: most of that shoreline – 45 miles of it, to be exact – could be easily confused for the ocean, save for the beaches where the skyline of Chicago is visible! Some of those beaches are particularly delightful; the beach at Indiana Dunes State Park, for example, is easily one of the most beautiful along all of Lake Michigan. You have to see it to believe it, for sure – the breathtaking beauty reminds one of the Bahamas, or some other tropical paradise.

Which small towns in Indiana should be added to my bucket list?

There are a lot of small towns in Indiana that just so happen to be totally wonderful. Some of those definitely deserve a spot on that old bucket list. Shamrock Lakes, for instance, is as quaint as it is tiny, with a small population and its very own lakes (hence the name). The town of Merom is also quite wonderful; it’s got an interesting history and the cutest downtown area! We also really love towns like Williamsport, Bridgeton, and Pine Village. Truth of the matter is, Indiana’s filled to the brim with beautiful small towns, so get out there and explore.
