East Bank Emporium Restaurant opened shortly after the Jefferson Street Bridge was constructed in 1912 in northern Indiana.

It is the only restaurant that offers Saint Joseph River dining and has gone through many stages over the years. Though not consistently a restaurant, it opened to the public as the eatery it is today in October of 1980.

Prior to its current business ties, the building has been a vacant warehouse, tombstone factory, and sign company. There is plenty of space inside for guests to enjoy their meals year-round.

Historic features within the restaurant include oak doors and a spiral staircase that use pieces from an old church as well as vintage light fixtures, railings, spindles, and oak columns.

The most spectacular views are enjoyed from the outdoor patio that sits right on the river and allows guests to enjoy its sights along with views of downtown South Bend.

The menu at this wonderful restaurant consists of a plethora of fantastic food. Appetizers, main entrees, cocktails, soups and salads, and much more abound.

Guests enjoy mozzarella triangles, crab cakes, ahi tuna, duck tacos, chicken tenders, fish and chips, wraps, BLTs, meatloaf, shrimp, and much more.

There are also many burgers to choose from including ones made from duck, bison, salmon, and turkey. Toppings include bacon, mushrooms, BBQ sauce, and other delicious additions.

East Bank Emporium Restaurant is open Monday through Saturday for lunch between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. as well as for dinner Monday through Thursday between 4 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday between 4 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., and Sunday between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m.
