The Igloo Frozen Custard is a timeless tradition that has been a part of west-central Indiana for more than 85 years. While it is mostly known for its frozen dairy treats, locals also love to stop by for hot, savory foods as well.
There are two locations for this retro custard stand. The original is considered to be the oldest and longest continuously-running frozen custard stand and well as one of the oldest family-operated businesses in the Midwest.
The interiors of both locations are charming and are sure to take you back in time. The checkered floors, bar stools, and vintage signs have been around from the start.
When it comes to ice cream at this retro custard stand, you'll find classic sundaes like banana splits, turtle sundaes, and caramel cashew sundaes. There are also specialty ones like Oreo Mountain, Rocky Road, Peanut Butter Fudge, and Chocoholics Only!
Other dairy delights include chipwiches, cheesecake on a stick, nutbars, and even pup cups for your canine friends. You can also order shakes and malts with pieces like cookie dough and candy.
If you're in the mood for something savory, try the best-selling breaded tenderloin. There are also burgers, breaded cod, chopsteak, chicken wraps, chicken tenders, hot dogs, salads, mozzarella sticks, fries, and much more available.
Additional cold treats to enjoy include fountain drinks, Coca Cola floats, slushies, smoothies, snow cones, lemonades, and old-fashioned sodas.
The Igloo Frozen Custard is a favorite of young and old alike. It is open Sunday through Thursday between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. as well as Friday and Saturday between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m.
