It’s no secret that Indiana is home to plenty of amazing places to grab some grub. It’s not uncommon to hear about places in the major metropolis areas, but what about the small-town, down-home cooking we all crave from time to time? Look no further than Perkinsville, Indiana.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. With less than 20,000 people calling this place home, it may come as a surprise that you can find some of the most awesome food you'll ever have right here in town. Enter Bonge's Tavern, the single-best kept local secret in the entire area.

It's had a few different owners over the years, having become a restaurant only after the end of Prohibition in the 1930s. Charles Bonge took over ownership in 1944 and spent nearly fifty years serving up his delectable recipes to hungry patrons.

Not a pork fan? Not to worry! Bonge's serves up incredible house-made sausages, delectable chicken piccata, and even exotic dishes for more adventurous palates such as breast of duck and antelope steak.

The bar was closed for four months following the strike, but as soon as it reopened, it was back to business as usual serving perfection on plates.

From the tenderloin to the tender prime rib, we've got no doubt that just about anyone can find something to love on the menu.

Relax with friends, drinks, and incredible food at this small-but-mighty little local hangout spot. It's the only one of its kind anywhere, and Perkinsville sure is lucky to have it.

Indiana's state pie is the Sugar Cream Pie, and Bonge's has plenty of this Hoosier staple available. Also on the dessert menu are chocolate ganache and a daily special, which you'll have to just come check out to see what it is.
