Indiana is ripe with rivers and lakes, making it the perfect place to to kayaking. When you’re looking for a new place to explore via the water, you’ve got plenty of options. Lake Monroe is a popular spot and also offers rentals. The White River West Fork has some beautiful treelined views, as does the Flatrock River which is great for beginners since the river is pretty calm.

When the summer sun kicks in, cooling off in the refreshing temperatures of the water can be a great way to spend the day. You can rent a paddle boat and enjoy the scenic views at Eagle Creek Park, and for a more solo adventure, rent a stand up paddle board and cruise down the St. Joseph River. If you have your own canoe or kayak, the Elkhart River between Elkhart and Goshen is an ideal water trail with ample wildlife along the way.
