Who says folks in the Midwest don't like spicy food? Sure, we might be known more for our world-famous tenderloin and other delectable comfort foods, but that doesn't mean we don't know how to turn up the heat when we want to. Enter Amazing Hazel's, a delightful Carmel hotspot (see what we did there?) that serves up what they claim is the best hot sauce in Indiana - and we're honestly inclined to agree.

There is nothing bland about Amazing Hazel's sauces and spice blends. What started with a childhood memory grew into a spicy empire of deliciousness right here in the beautiful Hoosier State.

The woman Hazel's is named for was born in 1897 and, during the Great Depression, she helped her family survive by crafting incredible hand-made chili sauces and condiments.

The recipe was passed down from her to her children, and so on. Terrifyingly, the recipe was thought to have been lost in 2011, but fate had a different idea: the owner and founder of Amazing Hazel's found his great-great-grandmother's recipe in some boxes in the attic, and the rest, as they say, is history.

While many hot and spicy sauces sacrifice flavor in favor of heat, Amazing Hazel's sauces and spices are the perfect balance of flavor and heat.
