These 10 Crazy Laws In Indiana Will Leave You Scratching Your Head In Wonder
Indiana has several strange and surprising laws that are still in effect.
I'm sure everyone has heard of a few strange laws in their day, but did you know there are some pretty weird laws in Indiana? There are actually many weird laws in "The Hoosier State." Brace yourself though, because you're bound to be shocked by these 10 crazy laws in Indiana.
1. Baths are not allowed from October to March.
(It's going to be a pretty gross winter...)
2. You'll be charged $3 per deck if caught playing cards.
(Sorry Euchre fans...)
3. Anyone working in the state government caught privately dueling will be immediately fired.
(Wait, are public duels allowed?)
4. If you charge money for a puppet show, you'll be fined $3.
(Apparently puppet shows are immoral...be sure to up-charge your guests to cover this fine!)
5. Every male between the ages of 18-50 must work six days per year on public Indiana roads.
(I think every man I know is going to jail...)
6. Forging a check is punishable by a public flogging.
(Up to 100 stripes! Ouch...!)
7. Moustaches are illegal if you tend to kiss others.
(Looks like No Shave November is off...)
8. If crossing the highway by foot at night, you can't wear tail lights.
(...what?)
9. Sheets in hotels must measure 99" long by 81" wide...exactly.
(...or else what?)
10. It's illegal to catch a fish with your bare hands.
(I'm not sure why you would want to, but you have to wonder what happened to cause this law to be written...)
