Located in Crest Hill, Siegal's Cottonwood Farm is owned by a four-generation family of farmers who have worked the land since 1909.
It is open year round selling fresh produce and gifts, but it becomes extra special in autumn.
Pumpkin Fest is open daily from the last weekend in September through Halloween from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. General admission includes more than 30 attractions suited for all ages.
Weekday admission costs about $12, while weekends costs about $15 per person. Children under age three are admitted for free.
One of the most exciting things is the pumpkin patch train ride. The track runs throughout a good portion of the Pumpkin Fest and is fun for guests both on and off the train.
Adults and children alike love the ride, and it's a great photo opportunity for lasting memories. Beautifully painted and decorated, you'll wish you could have this train in your own backyard.
Coming soon: a mile-long train track that covers much more ground! It is expected to be ready in 2018.
Additional activities at Siegel's Cottonwood Farm include a u-pick pumpkin field, a haunted barn, corn field mazes, a petting zoo, zip lines, pony rides, and a climbing wall.
Visitors also love adventures touring the farm on the hayrack ride. Enjoy an open-air trip through gorgeous fall foliage and picturesque farmland.
There is also a farm store and gift shop where you'll find fresh produce, canned goods, candies, and other delights.
You can't leave without trying some delicious eats like smoked turkey legs, pulled pork, apple cider donuts, fresh-baked pies, and kettle corn!
