Located on the eastern slope of the gorgeous Emmett Valley, Waterwheel Gardens has become a staple in southern Idaho for homegrown fruits, berries, vegetables, and so much more. They also boast some of the tastiest homemade jam you'll find in the Gem State and you'll definitely want to claim a jar or two of your own.
Waterwheel Gardens is a family owned and operated venture. Started years ago by Kurtis Williams, the farm encompasses about 20 acres and produces a plethora of fresh produce for the surrounding regions. On top of their fresh food products, they also offer a variety of delectable products such as pickles, dried fruit, and the most delicious homemade jam in Idaho.
You can get your hands on some of this wonderful jam at the fruit and vegetable stand located at the farm itself. Alternatively, you'll find Waterwheel Gardens at a handful of farmers markets around southern and central Idaho including Boise, Meridian, Ketchum, and Hailey.
So what makes their jam so special? They are created using only the highest quality fruits and berries harvested from their farm. They also pride themselves in using a low-sugar recipe so that the wonderful flavors of the fruit can really shine.
Approximately 66% of each jam is fruit, and the remaining is sugar (a mixture of organic cane sugar and pectin). Most jams also contain apple juice, citrus juice, cinnamon, allspice, cloves, and nutmeg. It's evident that this farm knows what they're doing when it comes to jam and jelly.
Not to mention, they boast pretty much every flavor of jam you could possibly imagine. At Waterwheel you'll find classics like blackberry, strawberry, and huckleberry along with more unique creations like habanero peach or cherry lime raspberry!
One of the best parts of living in Idaho is indulging in homegrown, locally produced treats like Waterwheel's jams. Be sure to pick some up the next time you find yourself at one of the mentioned farmers markets, or order from their website by clicking here.
