It’s during this time of year that many of our towns undergo drastic transformations to showcase their Christmas spirit. Not to mention, Idahoans are the type of people who like to get festive! If you’re looking for the perfect spot to spend the holidays, look no further than the enchanting Christmas town featured below. This town is a wonderful place to visit all year long, but it’s an extra special place during the holidays. After taking just one glance at this town’s main street, you’ll easily see why!
The historic town of Wallace in North Idaho is by far one of our state's most unique communities. With a population of just 761 people, this small town is quaint as can be.
During the winter, the town somehow becomes even more enchanting. As the town starts to experience the immense amount of snow that's known to fall every year, the historic main street starts to resembles a scene from a holiday-themed postcard!
However, stunning winter landscapes aren't all that this town has going for it. This small community is also known for throwing some of the best holiday festivals in the state.
This year, the weekend of December 7-8 will be full of festivities as Wallace Retro Christmas takes place. This fun event will feature lighting of the streets and historic buildings, a crafts fair, Winter Walk, Paw Parade, Light Parade, and so much more.
If you can't make it down for that, consider trying for Winterfest which takes place the weekend of December 28-31. This iconic festival is when the locals go all out with celebrating winter and take part in snow bike and snowmobile races, a snowshoe hike, and a snow sculpture contest.
There are some towns that slow down during the wintertime. That's not so for Wallace. In fact, winter is when Wallace really comes alive with an abundance of natural beauty and holiday fun.
