You Haven’t Lived Until You’ve Visited The Oldest Brewery In Idaho
Idaho is a quickly growing state and the beer industry here is growing just as fast. Breweries of all sizes and styles are popping up all over the state. We almost can’t keep up with all of the new brewpubs opening every single month. But who started this “beer revolution”? Highlands Hollow in Boise is considered the state’s very first microbrewery. They’ve been doing it the longest, and if you’re a beer fanatic then you absolutely have to visit it.
During these uncertain times, please keep safety in mind and consider adding destinations to your bucket list to visit at a later date.
Highlands Hollow Brewhouse is located in Boise's North End neighborhood and has been a favorite among the locals for years. Established in 1992, it's considered Idaho's very first microbrewery.
Since it opened, Highlands has handcrafted dozens of specialty beers. Their award-winning beer is some of the best around.
Local favorites that are always on tap include the Hippie Shake (a rich and flavorful IPA), Fiegwild (an English style pale ale), Spoon Tongue (an extremely smooth and clean ale), and Thunder Monkey (a strong bitter style ale).
Enjoying a delicious, expertly crafted brew by the fire is the best way to warm up on a chilly Idaho day. May we suggest the Bonnie St. Nan Cherry Smoked Porter if you're looking for a delightful winter beer.
Highlands Hollow has established that they know their beer. However, their food is just as amazing. They proudly seek the finest ingredients for their menu which consists of a variety of classic yet elevated pub food.
If you're a typical beer-loving Idahoan, then you absolutely need to stop by Highlands Hollow. This place was made for beer lovers by beer lovers, and that's what makes it so special.
They sure know how to have a good time at Highlands. They always feature live music on Wednesday nights from 6 pm to 9 pm. And St. Patrick's Day or Oktoberfest? You better be at the Hollow!
You're gonna love their brews so much that you'll want to take it home with you. Highlands offers a couple of Growler specials including $8 Growler fills on Sunday. You're going to want to go ahead and sign up for a Growler punch card which is buy ten, get one free.
