When you are craving authentic Mexican food, there is one place in Idaho that is calling your name — Taqueria El Rodeo. This Mexican restaurant is located in the small town of Ammon, just outside of Idaho Falls. It is one restaurant that doesn’t boast all of the frills and exquisite décor that you might find in other dining establishments in the Gem State, but that doesn’t matter. The food here, particularly the street tacos, is superb and you won't want to leave a single crumb on your plate.
Taqueria El Rodeo is tucked away between other businesses in Ammon, just off of 17th Street. However, once you know it is there, you'll be coming back quite often.
When you walk inside, you’ll notice a very simple interior. This Mexican restaurant is definitely a no-fuss hideaway in Idaho.
Despite the lack of frills, once you take a bite of your food, you’ll be in heaven. The menu is quite extensive and features many traditional Mexican favorites like burritos and enchiladas.
However, it is the street tacos that tend to stick out. The street tacos at Taqueria El Rodeo feature a corn tortilla topped with your choice of meat, onions, and cilantro.
Each taco is purchased individually, and we suggest you order at least two or three. You’ll be sad if you don’t.
Make sure to stop by the salsa bar to add a little spice and zest your tacos. You’ll find multiple salsa options here, as well as limes, jalapenos, spicy carrots, radishes, and more. A quick stop at the salsa bar allows you to create the perfect tacos every time you visit.
So, while it may not look like much, you will be grateful that you stopped by Taqueria El Rodeo, a no-fuss hideaway in Ammon, Idaho.
