Hiding off of Highway 75 near Ketchum, Idaho is a lovely little botanical garden that may just be one of our state's best-kept secrets. Boasting an abundance of natural beauty, it's the perfect place to lose yourself for the day.
The Sawtooth Botanical Garden is a unique place that is dedicated to showcasing the plants and flowers that can flourish at Ketchum's high altitude. Because of this, strolling through the garden is a great way to get to know this region of Central Idaho.
The 5-acre botanical garden was founded in 1994 by a small group of passionate gardeners and environmentalists. Their dream was to establish a public garden for all to enjoy, and they did just that.
Within the garden you'll find a myriad of wonderful walking paths that take you past all sorts of stunning foliage. Informational signs are strategically placed throughout so you can learn all about this region's unique flora.
Also located within the garden is a community building with a solar greenhouse. The garden does a great job of holding community events in order to educate the public about the environment. As of right now, they have all sorts of workshops and classes lined up for the year.
Best of all, the garden is open year-round, so you can drop by whenever is convenient for you. Visitors are welcome to come and explore anytime from dawn to dusk.
