This Underground Restaurant In Hawaii Is Like No Other Place You’ve Ever Eaten
From oceanfront spots to those situated in the jungle, the Aloha State has it all when it comes to remarkable restaurants. And while we love sky-high, luxury restaurants like Top of Waikiki as much as the next person, sometimes it’s nice to experience the opposite — cozy, underground eateries perfect for a relaxing dinner. Located in the heart of Waikiki, this steakhouse serves up some of the most mouthwatering food around… and it’s all found underground. Welcome to Chuck’s Cellar: let’s take a look around.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate
From the outside, Chuck’s Cellar doesn’t look like much.
When you enter, however, you will descend a set of stairs to this underground establishment that will blow you away with its vintage steakhouse vibe, complete with leather booths, dim lighting, and plenty of wood finishes.
As a sister restaurant to Chuck’s Steakhouse, the cozy cafe specializes in serving up quality, USDA grade prime steaks. The prime rib is a specialty, but you’ll also find a variety of other cuts and marinades.
Of course, because Chuck’s Cellar is located in the heart of Hawaii, it’s no surprise that the menu is full of phenomenal seafood dishes as well. From mahi-mahi and surf n’ turf to seafood pasta and even whole lobsters, you’ll find something for everyone at Chuck’s Cellar.
Did we mention the scrumptious sides you can order, too? This steak is paired with a delectable baked potato, but you can also order mashed potatoes, steamed jasmine rice, or a bowl of homemade soup.
Chuck’s Cellar is located in the Ohana Waikiki East by Outrigger at 150 Kaiulani Ave., Honolulu, HI 96815, and is open from 5 to 9 p.m. daily. For more information, visit their website or follow them on Facebook.
