But this is a beautiful area that’s filled with charm and history. Reed Bingham State Park is tucked away in Colquitt and Cook County, in Adel. It’s one of the more popular state parks in this area of the state, but even so, it’s not nearly as well-known as others in the parts of the state that receive more tourists. Even fewer people know that there are excellent camping accommodations here. Reed Bingham State Park is quite large, spanning an impressive 1,613 acres. The park includes a magnificent 375-acre lake, a nature trail, a playground and miniature golf course, and plenty of opportunities for fun.

You'll find several great trails here that lead through the lovely wilderness of woods and swamp. There's a 0.5-mile nature loop that's perfect for young kids, plus longer treks that are great for experienced hikers.

With several boat ramps and docks, there are lots of chances to get out on the water.

This area of the state is just about as far south as you can get in Georgia, so the park rarely sees freezes. You'll find that the daytime temperatures only very rarely drop low enough to be uncomfortable.
